Title:Head Field Hockey Coach

Wesleyan University is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty position of Head Coach of Field Hockey. Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, organizing and administering all aspects of the field hockey program, including practice planning, scheduling, arranging for travel, recruiting, supervising an assistant coach, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate will also be expected to design and implement effective fundraising initiatives for the program.

Duties will also include the teaching of for credit, physical education skills courses. Also, the successful candidate must adhere to University, NESCAC and NCAA Division III regulations. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Wesleyan is a highly selective liberal arts college that values both scholarship and teaching very highly, and has a strong, diverse undergraduate student body. This is an adjunct faculty multi-year appointment beginning on July 1, 2019.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree in a sports related field is preferred. Candidates should have significant experience in the coaching of field hockey at the college, secondary or club level. The ability to mentor students in a very challenging academic environment is an important qualification, as well as, the ability to recruit and coach highly competitive field hockey players.
