Full Time Assistant Field Hockey Coach

Position (full-time): Assistant Women’s Field Hockey Coach and Coordinator of Student Athlete Development.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred. Previous field hockey playing experience at the collegiate level is required and coaching experience is strongly preferred. Certification in CPR, First Aid and AED is required and can be attained upon start date. The successful candidate is expected to complete a number of other trainings and professional development activities as they are offered at the university and the NCAA.

Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III field hockey program. The top priority must be the overall collegiate experience of the student-athlete and enhancing a positive and healthy team culture that encourages growth and development.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting in all of the following areas including the oversight of student-athlete academic progress; recruitment of appropriate student-athletes; planning and direction of team practices and game days; film assessments, planning match and training tactical strategies; tracking of team budgets; ordering team supplies and equipment; fund raising and alumni relations; coordination of team travel; and any other duties as needed.

A secondary responsibility of Coordinator of Student Athlete Development will require additional work within the athletic department with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, coordinating with outside offices at the institution to create life skill development opportunities for all student athletes, and any other administrative duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other department staff.

The preferred candidate will have an interest in pursuing a career in collegiate athletics.

Salary: Full time with benefits, plus additional NCAA funding for professional development.
