The University of New Haven, located in West Haven Connecticut, and a DII member of the NCAA, seeks a graduate assistant to work in conjunction with the head women’s field hockey coach in all aspects of the field hockey program. To qualify, the graduate assistant must successfully enroll as a full-time graduate student.

The primary responsibility will be to assist the head coach in all facets of the program. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Monitoring of student-athlete academic success
• Team travel and meal planning
• Assisting with fundraising and community service events
• Camp/Clinic correspondence and registration
• Assist the head coach with organization and planning of practices and game preparation
• Game film upload and review using TeamXStream
• Front Rush calendar logs
• Identification and recruitment of quality student-athletes
• Prospective student-athlete visit itineraries and compliance paperwork
• Monitoring of social media accounts

A bachelor's degree is required. Previous playing experience is required and previous coaching experience is preferred. Successful applicants must understand and abide by all NCAA rules and regulations.

The candidate should also possess strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, athletic administration, and athletic trainers. Applicants should acquire excellent organizational skills and demonstrate a high level of professionalism. The ideal candidate will have the intent to remain in athletics post-graduation.

This position, available beginning fall 2020, includes full tuition remission as well as a stipend. This position also has the opportunity to gain additional revenue through clinics, camps, and tournaments.
