Under the direct supervision of the Head Field Hockey Coach, this position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the University’s varsity women’s field hockey program. The Assistant Coach will serve as the recruiting and scouting coordinator for the field hockey program and will be responsible for managing all recruiting and scouting efforts of the program. The Assistant Coach will also serve as either the Offensive or Defensive Coordinator, primarily providing coaching instruction to the field hockey team and also providing tactical recommendations to the Head Coach. This position requires frequent interaction with the Head Coach, compliance office, business office, academic coordinator and athletic trainers to ensure successful administration of the entire program, a successful recruiting program, ensure student-athlete welfare, and promote a successful and positive athletic experience for field hockey student-athletes. Assistant Coach also oversees field hockey equipment and travel budgets and coordinates all travel arrangements for team and coaching staff.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum Requirements:
• Approximately 3 to 5 years coaching experience as well as previous field hockey playing experience at the collegiate or professional level.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and with emphasis of attention to detail and organization.
Additional Information:
This position requires travel and a may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays with a limited amount of supervision.
